n8n workflow runs when I hit Test but the Schedule trigger never fires on its own

   Is the workflow actually switched to Active? Top right toggle. Test runs work with it off, schedules don’t. Second thing: n8n runs the cron in the server’s timezone unless you set GENERIC_TIMEZONE, so ‘9am’ might be 9am UTC which is 2am here.

   The Active toggle got me too. Also if you’re on the free cloud tier and it went to sleep, the first scheduled run after a quiet spell sometimes just doesn’t happen. Mine’s on Railway now for that reason.

   Coming to this late but for anyone else: check Executions in the sidebar, it lists the scheduled ones even when they fail, which tells you whether it’s firing at all.

   It was off. I’d been testing for a week and never flipped it. Set the timezone too while I was in there.
