Claude Code tries to read my whole 40MB DXF and chokes — how do you point it at just the structure?

   Write a tiny script that prints the parts you care about, layer names, entity counts, the first few of each type, and tell Claude to run that instead of opening the file. Then add ‘never cat files over 1MB, use scripts/peek.py’ to CLAUDE.md. My field recordings are worse than your DXF and this is the only thing that works.

   Or cut a 200KB sample DXF with three rooms and keep the big one out of the repo. It doesn’t need the real file to fix a parser.

   Trying both. The sample file helped right away, the peek script it keeps ignoring unless I mention it in the prompt.
